Sixth Reflection of PETA


            In the last meeting of PETA, I was absent because I went to Bogor for some business. I did not know what was learnt in the class, but I asked my friends about the material that was discussed and also the activity in the last meeting. Besides, I also read the power point on the moodle. The material from last meeting was about multiple intelligences, bloom taxonomy and also differentiated instruction. When I heard the material, it seems familiar for me, because I think this material also has ever been discussed in LTM and TLL classes. From my friends explanations and from the reading, I understand that there is one more type of instruction besides 4 instructions that have learnt before. I also understand every student has different intelligence and has the different level or step in bloom taxonomy. The differences of the students demand the teacher to give different activity that will give the same chance for every student to explore their intelligence. The different instruction is called differentiated instruction.
            Differentiated instruction was created to make the students learn and understand the same topic, but in the different instruction and assessment that match on their intelligences. There are 8 types of intelligences. They are verbal linguistic, logical mathematical, visual spatial, musical, bodily kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist. From those intelligences, teacher can give the variety for the class activity. Debate, discussion and presentation can be the examples for verbal linguistic intelligence students. Learning grammar by using song can be one of the examples of the activity for the musical intelligence students. Those are the things that I understand clearly from my friends’ explanations and from my reading.
            Actually there is nothing that I don’t understand, because I think this material is already discussed in some courses before. By discussing again in PETA class, it really makes me understand the material clearly.
            I couldn’t give the comment about the last meeting’s activity, since I did not attend the class. From what I heard from my friends, the first activity was giving comment for the micro teaching performances. I think it was really meaningful for me to become a teacher someday, because response and comment can make people learn. Unfortunately, I could not hear the response and also the comment for my group’s performance. For the next meeting, I hope there will be a bit review about the courses before, thus I can get more information form Bu Ine.

  1. Wow seems like u understood already, w/o attending the class :)

    Good for ye to discuss it with your friends, but d sense of learning directly inda classroom is different with that discussion, haha.
