Mamal's Sixth Reflection of PETA

The previous meeting of PETA was mostly about the discussion toward our performance of micro teaching. We revealed each other opinion toward each other’s performance. We also evaluate each other. Honestly, I got nervous when my friends were delivering their opinion or correction toward my group’s performance, but it was fine for me because those correction and input will make our performance better. Bu Ine also gave the input about it. from that discussion I learned a lot about being careful to check and recheck the aspect that will be assessed in the micro teaching performance. Most importantly, the preparation is the key to make the performance runs well. I learned also about Multiple Intelligences and Bloom’s Taxonomy. However, before starting the topic, there was one group left that performed in that meeting, which was the last group. For me, then that discussion was so meaningful and gave me a lot of input to repair or make my performance in the real micro teaching better.
After the discussion about the whole performance, Bu Ine started to explain about Multiple Intelligences and Bloom’s taxonomy. There were no so many discussions about the topic, because besides we have already got that from another courses, also we only had a very limited time. So that, that day was like lecturing discussion. In that session, I learned that it is impossible for human for having only one intelligence, because every human has more than one intelligence. Then, I realized that teacher has to be able to give students the equal fairness by involving the various intelligences in teaching and learning process. There are eight intelligences according to Howard Gardner. So that, in the lesson plan that I will make for my teaching in the future, I will have to put more that one intelligence to cover the intelligence of the students that must be various. I think I have understood clearly about MI and the characteristic of each MI. Also, learning again about it was so interesting for me, because it reminded me that as teacher we will deal with this.
What I did not really understand was about applying the bloom’s taxonomy into teaching. Whether that is something that I have to use in my teaching or that is about the process of learning that we only have to know about and there is nothing to do whit it. What I understand about Bloom’s Taxonomy that is about the classification of learning objectives, from remembering step to creating step. It is a bit hard for me to imagine what I should do in my teaching in the future by applying bloom’s taxonomy.
Overall, the previous PETA meeting was so interesting. Although I still have something that I did not really understand, but that is the thing that I have to give my effort in it to understand it.
