Seventh Reflection

           I have learned new things about assessment material. I have learned assessment in PETA general lecturing and LTM course. However, it was a little bit different in some parts. Firstly, Ms. Ine asked me and my classmates to draw something that could represent us when we heard assessment word. I drew a sad face because I always became sad and stress when I heard about assessment, quiz, test or examination. Then, we worked in group. My group and I got two questions and we would explain it to other groups.
           I thought, it was not challenging question because I have learned about assessment before. So, my group used our prior knowledge to answer the questions. Based on our perception, assessment is the tool to measure students understanding. An effective assessment is the assessment which is valid, reliable, and objective. I have understood what the assessment is and what an effective assessment is, but I got trouble to explain the difference between the evaluation and assessment. I did not know why it was so difficult to answer the question from Ms. Ine. I was also confused about the difference because there was a difference explanation between the evaluation and assessment in LTM course and PETA course. I think, in PETA course the assessment is broader than evaluation, the other way the evaluation is broader than assessment in LTM course. Maybe, I have to read to check or devise the correct one or maybe just to make it clearer.                    From my friends’ presentation, I could understand some sub-topics easily because my friend could give the explanation so clear and make it simply. Maybe I need more explanation about the effect of motivation learning and assessment, because I could not get it all. I was a little bit confused. I did know what the reason is or maybe I have not prepared myself before so I still got confuse in some parts. The part that was so interesting is making a reflection for Ms Ine. It was so interesting because in PETA course I just made reflections for me, what I have learned in one day and publish my reflections on class blog. Actually, It was so hard to make reflection for Ms. Ine but I did not give up and wrote my feeling and my perception for Ms. Ine’s teaching.
          Last week was meaningful like usual because the material was very good for me as a teacher candidate. I hope, all materials that I learned in PETA course will help me to teach my student in future as an educator or an English teacher.
