My Reflection

               Last session was so meaningful for me as a teacher candidate. I learned so many things in PETA class last week. I have done micro teaching with my group. In micro teaching, it was so difficult to do micro teaching because I appeared myself as a teacher in front of my classmates. Honestly, I was so nervous at the time, but I could notice what my strength is and my weaknesses are. However, I got new things about what and how I must do in teaching practice such as how to start the class, how to introduce the lesson, how to give explanation and instruction, how to assess students’ understanding and how to closure the lesson. Maybe, I have learned those things in other subjects like LTM and UET, but in micro teaching I could try to apply and improve it. So, I was so thankful with this activity. After my group did micro teaching, Ms. Ine, my classmates and I did reflection for micro teaching activity. In my opinion, this part was so interesting. I heard and knew what my classmates felt in their micro teaching and I learned something from this part like what I have to improve my weaknesses or what I have learned from my classmates’ strength.

                I did not just do micro-teaching last week, but I learned about multiple intelligences and bloom’s taxonomy. I could understand these materials clearly, because I have learned about the materials from other subjects. However, it was a little bit different but it was so good for me to learn when Ms Ine added information like what the kind of assessment I can give to my students based on their intelligences. After I learned multiple intelligences I understood that multiple intelligences are the ability to solve the problems and maybe produce a new problem. There are eight major intelligences such as bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, verbal linguistic, logical mathematic, intrapersonal, verbal spatial, musical and naturalistic. I understood that people can have some intelligence. If I know what my students’ intelligences, it can be easy for me to deliver or assess my student properly. However, I realize that it was so difficult to determine students’ intelligences. About bloom’s taxonomy, there are six steps like remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. In my opinion, multiple intelligence and bloom’s taxonomy cannot be separated, because teacher can combine it to assess student and give the materials.


                I think, last session met my expectation because I could understand the materials and did my micro-teaching with my group. My expectation for next session is to understand the material clearly and I hope it can support me as a teacher candidate.
