Micro Teaching

    In the last meeting of PETA, I learnt about how to teach effectively in the class. My friend and I did micro teaching about narrative text. We assume and pretend that all of our friends in the class were students. Through this kind of activity, I learnt that make an effective environment in teaching was not easy. We have to create an interesting activity to increase students’ enthusiasm in learning process in the class. Besides that, we also needed to make a good lesson plan where all the content in the lesson plan can be applied appropriately in the class, because if the lesson plan is good but the execution is not good it is meaningless and not useful.
     I agree that the good preparation will take an important part in the successful of teaching and learning. However, it cannot be separated from the creativity of teacher to encounter the possible things that perhaps do not be expected in the class. The reason why I can say something like that is because I had experience where I had good lesson plan but in the execution did not go well because I could not anticipate the things that happened beyond my expectation before. So, as a teacher we have to be ready with all the things that maybe we are not expected. The other thing, I think take important part in successful of the lesson is the way teacher can build comfortable environment, effective interaction and appropriate assessment.
    Through micro teaching that I did in this meeting, I felt very enjoy because the activity was interesting. It was different with my imagination before I did micro teaching. In the first time I heard about micro teaching, I felt so nervous and afraid to do that because I thought that it will difficult to do. However, that kind of feeling was broken when I did micro teaching in the real action. It was interesting and also important for me as teacher candidate, because in my opinion, teacher candidate not only have to get all theories about teaching, but also the experience in the way to practice the theory itself in the real life.
    Over all, I felt very enjoy with all activities that I did in this session. I hope for the next meeting I can feel the other kind of interesting activity which is more meaningful and useful for me not only in teaching, but also in other part of life that relate with education.
