In the previous meeting of PETA
class we conducted a microteaching “rehearsal”, so there was no materials
delivered by Ms. Ine. I have learned a lot of things from the activity, started
from the preparation until the microteaching itself.
Now I clearly understand that
preparation is the vital part of microteaching, started from the lesson
planning, until preparing the material. Personally, I thought that the lesson
plan that Yuti, Syaifur, Raphita and I have made was good enough, which means
there was nothing left on the lesson plan, but then when we waited for our
turn, we saw that the other groups were preparing the interesting videos and it
helped me, as the audience to understand the topic. Without thinking too long, I
quickly downloaded a video of speech example; the topic that my group had
chosen. The impact of that sudden idea was the plan that we have made was a bit
messed and out of my expectation. In conclusion, my group, especially me, was
not do enough for the preparation, so I should have think thoroughly for my
lesson in the future. Another thing that I have understood clearly was about
the model of instruction that every group presented. It was various of models
that my friends used, but mostly they used Lecture-Discussion and Group
Interaction model.
I think there was no part that I
have not understood, because there was no materials to be delivered, so I was
just enjoyed the microteaching activity and assess the other groups also.
Last session of PETA class was
interesting because the other group presented different topics from what my
group had chosen, and the way they deliver their materials was interesting and
funny for me. It seemed that they were tried so hard to be the real teacher,
but it ended up with they as who they were. It maybe because of the audience were
us, their classmates, so they were just took it easy as in daily life. The
microteaching activity that we have done was absolutely meaningful for me as a
teacher candidate because one more time, I could practice my teaching skill
after what I had done in SEP.
I did not meet my expectation in
the microteaching activity because I could not think about how to delivered the
materials well, so there was a sudden idea which a bit messed the process. I
also thought that I did not do my part well because my words was so messed up,
so I think the audience was a bit confused of what I was talking. I hope I can
do better in another occasion.
