The Sixth e-Reflection of Syaifur

The sixth meeting of PETA, the first activity of the class was about the last group for micro teaching. After that Ms. Ine did the discussion about the micro teaching that my friends and I had done. The discussion was interesting for me, because my classmate gave the suggestion each others. I really appreciate when Ms. Ine clarified all micro teaching of my friends and I. The next activity was explaining about Bloom’s taxonomy, Ms. ine explained deeply about Bloom’s taxonomy itself. She also gave the examples of the Bloom’s taxonomy implementation in the real situation.    

The part of that meeting which I understood clearly was about Bloom’s taxonomy. I think Bloom’s taxonomy has correlation with multiple intelligences, although the main of idea both of them are opposite. Bloom’s taxonomy consists of the steps such as remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. Remembering is about the recall of the learners struggle to get the information. Understanding means that beside the learners get the information, they also have to be able explain about the information that they have already got. Applying means the learners can transfer information in the real situation. Analyzing means that the ability of learners when separating information and including the information to be certain of group. Evaluation means that the learners are able to combine information for making judgment. The last is about creating, it means the ability of generating new idea or product. 

The part of the sixth meeting which I did not really understand was about the definition of intelligence itself. Based on the slide from my lecturer, intelligence means the ability to solve problem that one encounter in real life, the ability to generate new problems to solve, and the ability to make something or offer service that is valuated within one’s culture. I was still confused about those definitions. The struggles which I do to achieve my understanding are many things. The struggles such as ask to my friends, look for the other reference which can help me to understand easily about the concept, and ask to my lecture via e-mail. My lecturer is really open for helping the students, so I can ask anything about the lesson which I have not understood. 

I think the interesting session was about the discussion with Ms. Ine about the micro teaching. The session could stimulate me to share about what I felt when I did group work. I got also the suggestion from my lecture, I really appreciate the suggestion. I can improve my teaching skill and I also can improve my self-correction. The rest class activity was about explanation the material. I think the following class activity was not really interesting, because my lecturer did not provide the group work or game, but I still enjoyed the explanation of my lecturer.  

The material which I learnt in the sixth meeting is really meaningful for me as teacher candidate. Through my understanding which I got, I can apply it in my future when I am an educator. I can apply the different way in my teaching for my students who have different intelligent. I think it is really important for me, because the students must be different each other. I am as educator has to be aware about that and I have to choose the variety ways of my teaching. It will help my students to achieve my students’ understanding. 

My expectation for that meeting was not really successful, because I still found the difficulty when I learn about the material. Although like that, I also achieve some of my expectations, like as I could share about my feeling when I did group work through discussion with my lecturer. My expectation for the next meeting, I expect that I can be an cooperative students, I can understand deeply about the material and I can enjoy the class activity.
