The Reflection of Micro-teaching Session

In PETA course meeting on 30^th November, we did micro-teaching session in the class. We have to do the micro-teaching with the group that had been decided before. My group has got the second turn to do the micro-teaching and our topic was procedure text. My group was consisting of four members, so we divide the task so that all of us can get turn to do the micro-teaching. I did learn something today, whenever it was not new. I learn that teamwork in team teaching is very important, because we have to completing one and other.

Everybody cannot do every single thing perfectly, so that they need other people to help them. In this micro teaching, I saw that we have to fill and helped each other in our teaching. And from the other group teaching simulation I saw that some members felt so nervous, and it affected the class member who participate as student become not really get the material that they share, from this case, as a teacher candidate I did learn that self-confidence is very important for us especially in explaining the lesson material.

In this session we were not get lesson material because we just do the microteaching in whole session. From this meeting, as I said before I learnt something, that self-confidence and teamwork are very important in team teaching, just not that preparation and class management is important too.

Due to there is not lesson material sharing in this session, so I was not feel confused about anything. May be I just find some confusion about how to apply good class management to handle the class, so that the class can run well, and to help it I will learn more by reading books, browsing and asking senior or lecturer who now more than me about these thing.

Actually, I think that today session was interesting because I could learn a lot from the other, I can learn how to give a good explanation, how to manage the class and how to work together in a team to do teaching collaboration. I think what I get today is very meaningful and useful for me in the future. As a teacher candidate I get some tips and trick how to manage the class and how to give explanation so that we can get students’ attention. It is very helpful for me.

I was not having any special expectation for today session, because I know that today session will be the micro-teaching, but whenever there is no special expectation, I do have expectation for today’s session I expect that I can learn how to get students’ attention and response in the teaching process and finally my expectation is achieved. For the next session, I expect that I can something new again that will be help me to improve my skill and my knowledge how to be a good teacher.
