After mid-term
test, I have gotten again new experience in PETA class. Last meeting was about
making lesson plan and deliver it in micro teaching.
First, my friends
and I was divided into several groups which consist of 4 until 5 students in
each groups by the lecturer. Then we had to discuss and determine the topic
which we want to deliver in micro teaching based on Standar Kompetensi (SK) and
Kompetensi Dasar (KD) that have already given by the lecturer. Actually for
making lesson plan, I am sure that my friends and I have same experience that
it has been as habituation, but do micro teaching is my first time. So, I think
I have learned new things in making effective lesson plan and doing micro
teaching.
From last
session, I have understood clearly in making lesson plan. I could find topic
which has relation with main topic. After that, I could elaborate between main
topic as foundation or basic knowledge and other materials as supporter for
expanding students’ ability in learning. There is integration link between main
topic and other activities as long as appropriate and relate each other. For
example, at that time my team and I have chosen topic about “public speaking”
for senior high school in grade XII. The main topic is about public speaking
but we make some activities which relates to real life such as public speaking
in speech, presenter, news reader, etc. So, in our lesson plan we mentioned by knowing
familiar context which is assimilated by the new information and understanding,
students should be able to interpret meaning in public speaking context. In
addition, my team gave the materials by lecture-discussion methods and added
materials by showing video as opening class to grab students’ interesting. From
this explanation, I could conclude that I have understood clearly how to make
lesson plan and implemented it by doing micro teaching.
Sometimes,
I feel confused and still do not understand with giving assessment in teaching.
I mean, I have already made lesson plan with certain activities, methods,
learning style, and even assessment, but I am still doubt to establish what
types of assessment that I have to give to students. I have to choose what kind
of rubric and what types of assessment. Then, as solution I have tried to find
the rubric example in internet, such as http://rubistar.4teachers.org/.
Furthermore, I also have to analyze the rubric which is appropriate or not and
make some revision on it. By having example of those rubrics, I could
understand to make effective rubric for students.
Every
session in PETA class is very interesting. Interesting means I want to learn
more and more every times. I learn many new things that I do not know everyday.
Before the class, I usually feel anxious with materials that will be delivered.
I cannot wait to read materials first, at least before coming to the class. So,
I enrich my prior knowledge as preparation. The class is not only interesting
in every topic which have been already delivered, but also very meaningful. I
can understand deeply by learning practically which is doing micro teaching and
create lesson plan effectively. As
a teacher candidate, these topics are very useful, because before coming to the
class teacher should prepare lesson plan and apply it in the classroom. Whoever
the teacher is and however the teacher has been taught in that profession,
teacher should prepare lesson plan before coming to the class. Thus, this topic
can give benefit to my knowledge in preparing everything.
This meeting has been fulfilled my
expectation about lesson plan and do micro teaching. I did not realize if there
was additional time to do micro teaching, because I think I just have to make
lesson plan. So, it is very good chance to explore teaching learning. The most
important thing in this meeting I have more additional information and get a
lot of new knowledge to prepare myself as a teacher candidate.
For the next meeting, I hope that there
will be new things which can improve my ability and passion in teaching
learning. Also, many kinds of the materials that will be given later giving me
new spirit to continue my study :)

If I may suggest you,please explain more what is the significance of doing micro teaching as a teacher candidate, is meaningful to you as a teacher candidate to do micro teaching?
From the grammar and mechanical please pay attention to using of tenses. I find some inconsistent and misusing of past tense i.e :
...we want (wanted) to deliver in micro teaching based on Standar Kompetensi...
....I feel (felt) confused and still do not understand with giving assessment...
Besides you also have to pay attention on word choosing, I find some misused of word in your writing such as supporting (supporting),students’ interesting (attention).
That is I want to say. Keep up your writing.
