Today, PETA’s class had a micro
teaching from the last group and there was an evaluation session after that then in the last time we discussed about bloom taxonomy.
The last group is my group, I got nervous during the micro teaching
presentation. It has
often happened to me if I must do a presentation in
front of my friends. From my micro teaching presentation I have learned about
how to attract student and engage them into the
learning process.
Actually I have learned about how to practicing the topic and theory that I
have learned in the previous meeting, such as managing the class, creating
successful learning, creating an
effective teaching using model of instructional
and so on.
Based on the situation that
happened during the micro teaching, I thought that my micro teaching
presentation was not good, even my group has rehearsal before the presentation. May
be we got nervous and students' responses were out of expectation then
it made what we have planed did not work at all.
After presenting the micro teaching
from the last group,
ibu Ine made an evaluation session. Actually the
evaluation session taught me implicitly, so I have learned about some factors
which might happen when teaching. Such as sitting arrangement, it is very
important to have a successful teaching. When I did micro teaching with my
group we miss the sitting arrangement, my students (my friends) were sit
freely. Some of them were sitting in the corner and got far with others.
It has
made us difficult to grab their attention.
Because students were busy with their own laptop and their business, especially
students who sat in the corner. And the new thing that I have learned is about students' responses. I just noticed that students’
responses are very important. In my opinion teacher might be confused if the
students keep silent and do not give any response, it
makes the teacher does not know whether the students understand or not. I have
this assumption because I have experienced it when I did micro teaching. My
students were very quiet and keep silent when I ask whether they understood or
not. There were no responses and it makes me confused with what I should
do at that time. My part in micro reaching was
closing, and it is possible for me to do
many things in closure
such as reviewing, gave some quiz, asking questions about which part that my
students still do not understand, and gave a brief explanation about the topic
that have discussed.
From what I have learned from micro
teaching, I have clearly understood about students’ responses. I think I could
understand clearly because I have experienced it and I was thinking the solution. If my students did give
any response I would approach them and give some questions. I think if I
approach them, they would feel forced by me, then they would give an
answer. Sometimes we
need to force the students to have some responses, it is useful to monitoring
their progress and evaluating strengthens and weaknesses in our teaching.
In my opinion there was no part
that I did not understand, because there was no important topic to discuss so there were
no limitation as a target to be understandable. Even there was a discussion about bloom taxonomy, in my opinion it is not necessary because I already got it in other courses. For me evaluation session is a
flexible session because everybody could put their own perspective. So in my
perspective there was nothing that I did not understand.
Today’s session was not
interesting, it is gloomy. I felt everybody thought about what they have done
in micro teaching. Just like me I have introspection, about my weaknesses and
think about the solution. Even it is gloomy, it was useful because with
evaluation Ine could know the
reasons behind what we have done in micro
teaching. So
ibu Ine could give
suggestions for our problem.
As a teacher candidate, things that
I got from today’s class are very meaningful. Because it things that happen after micro teaching is almost same with real
teaching. So I could make it as my preparation becoming a teacher.
Before the class I thought, after
micro teaching presentation ibu Ine would give a paper project as the last assignment
and discuss all things that we have discussed before. But the fact told the
opposites. This session was out of my expectation, and it is better that what I
expected.
For the next session I hope there will be games. PETA’s class has a long duration so I hope we have a break about 5 minutes to have games.

BalasHapusI want to ask about your instropection part. I feel like anxious about what will you do in the instropection time? what will you impact or affect after knowing your strength even weaknessess?
Is there any new things experience of the topic about microteaching and differentiated instruction?
If I may say, you have to explain about what you understand in this topic and explain more about meaningful leaarning, especially as a teacher candidate.
