5th E-Reflection - Micro teaching

I didn't learned any particular material in the last meeting, because there was a micro teaching session. My friends and I taught with the group to do the micro teaching. There was no new thing that I have learned in the last meeting, but the thing that I got from the micro teaching was about the real situation and condition when I was teaching. Besides that, there was also the unexpected condition in teaching. It was very important for my group to prepare the material and method that we will conduct in the teaching. If the teacher was not creative, the target of teaching would not fulfilled when we were teaching.

I had understood clearly about how to manage the class. How to introduce the lesson, how to take the students' attention, and how to deliver the material. Actually those what I had understood clearly had been learned in Use of English in Teaching (Spoken Language) subject. How to introduce the lesson, for example I could say, "In this meeting, we will discuss about...".

When I took the students' attention, I could say, "Can I have your attention, please...?".

What I did not understand clearly was about how to solve the unexpected problem that happened in the class when I was teaching. Like what I said before in the previous paragraph, it was important for the teacher to think and prepare about the unexpected thing that will happened in the class. What will I do about that, is always prepare the lesson plan and materials before I do teaching. I will also prepare what method that I will use in conducting the lesson. I must think creatively when it was an unexpected thing happened in the class.

I thought that the last meeting was interesting, because I could be a teacher and a student in micro teaching session. It needed to be professional when my group came to teach in the micro teaching. Not only professional, it was also needed to be maximal doing my task.

As a teacher candidate, it was very meaningful. Micro teaching could be an exercise for me as a teacher candidate to prove my ability in teaching. Not only that, it was also could train my creative thinking to manage the class.

I did not meet my expectation in the last meeting. I expected that the last meeting was not fully filled with micro teaching session, and I would learn some materials. However, it was fully filled with micro teaching session, and I think it was interesting. Although all of groups did not write their lesson plan on the flip chart, the lecturer decided to ask all of the group to show the lesson plan on the presentation slide.

I expected that there would be the micro teaching session for the last group, because there was only one group left. Then, I expected I would learn about how to manage the class in advance level. I thought it was needed because class management skill is needed by teacher candidates, for their teaching in the future.
