PETA 3rd REFLECTION

On the last meeting I have learned about Models of Instruction. I learned Direct Instruction, Teacher Centered, Lecture Discussion and Guided Discovery. These models give me the references for giving materials to students. There are many models that can be used while teaching but I have to look at the situation and condition if I will choose one of them.

From that I learned, I really understand the direct instruction and teacher centered instruction because I was on direct instruction group and I had the prior knowledge about teacher centered. It was not make me so hard to understand the contents.

The one that I could not understand was guided discovery. Based on the name, guided discovery I thought students are instructed based on a discovery tools and teacher guide them to learn. It was just guessing but finally I knew the real meaning of guided discovery.

Overall I could be in the learning activity and I understood all the material that I have. Unfortunately I am lack of remembering things and it related to the material. I will forget it easily so I have to keep my mind remember these models.

The session was interesting because it related to the real teaching. I could understand it easily because I have the experience and I can imagine the real condition based on the material.

I know and I am sure models of instruction will be very usefull for my future as teacher. It makes me realize that there are several models that I could use when I am teaching.

The material was just like my expectation because after I went from the class I had something on my mind that what should I did when I taught on SEP.

I hope PETA course will  give us the useful materials or tips or the best ways for teaching always.
