PETA Reflection the Third

What I have learnt in this session is Models of Instruction. It is like teacher strategy which the teacher as an informer of instruction. The teacher has role to guide the learning process. There are some new things that I have learnt in this session which are kind of Model of Instruction. They are Lecture Discussion which has characteristic like reinforcement and teacher centered; Guided Discovery; Group Interaction which has steps like specific object, explanation or illustration, practice and identify; and Direct Instruction which has characteristics like face to face, group goal, and group processing.

From what I have learnt in this session, the part that I have understood clearly is guided discovery, because in jigsaw session I got this model. What I have understood from guided discovery is teacher as guidance in learning activities. In the other hand, I have part that I have not understood yet completely. It was Group Interaction, because my friend who got this model did not explain well and there are many things did not shared yet. What I will do about my problem is re-read about the materials that Bu Ine had given.

I think this session was interesting, because we did a jigsaw activity. It was amusing when I worked in group, met the “expert” group, and shared what we understood. Besides, I think what I have learnt in this session was meaningful to me as a teacher candidate. Those models of instruction might be suitable for my students. I will apply one of them or maybe mixed in my class some day.

I think this session meets my expectation, because I gave more contribution in my group. I could interact more with other members. What I expect for the next session is understand more about the materials. If my friends ask me about the material, I can answer fluently.
