Assessment Reflection

Last week, I learned about Assessment from Ibu Warih as a guest lecturer. It was so interesting because class was joined with other sections, section E and G. It was my first time to join class with 2012 cohort.  In join class, we had so many activities like group discussion, question and answer, and gallery walk. Before the class begun, we divided into several groups those consist three or four students. Each of us did a job likes a leader, logistic, recorder and reporter. However, it did not work well in my group because some of us could work as a leader, logistic, recorder, and reporter.

From Ibu Warih, I learned about what assessment  is and what  summative and formative assessment is. I conclude that assessment can help teacher to measure and know students' understanding. Not only to help teacher, but also help students to know what they have learned and understood. I felt so bad, when Bu Warih started to explain about summmative and formative assessment, because I did not understand about this. When I worked with other members in discussion group, I tried to find other sources that could help me to understand about summative and formative assessment. From other sources, I comprehended some different between summatie and formative assessment. summative assessment occurs after instruction, whereas formative occurs during instruction. In my opinion, summative assessments like UAS and UAN and the feedback is a score, moreover formative assessment feedback can be like information. this session helps as an educator candidate to know about the assessment and the kind of assessments. So, in future if I am a teacher, I can choose the appropriate assessments for my students.

Honestly, I did not have any expectation for this session, because I just want to know and understand about the assessment. For next session, I hope I will get knowledge that can help and support me as  an educator candidate.
