3rd week Reflection of PETA.

4 Instructions in the Classroom
This day, I learnt about four methods instructions in the classroom. That was the new things for me, because I didn’t know what are kind of instruction in the class are. Before studying about this unit, I thought that instruction in the classroom only gave in UET subject. As I knew, in UET I learnt about language to give instruction in the classroom, and I thought that this topic was related with this part of topic in UET. In the fact, this topic was learnt in PETA. I know the difference between instruction topic in PETA and UET. In UET, the focus was in the language use for the instruction then in PETA, the focus on the concept of instructions. Well, there are four types of instructions in the classroom.
There are Guided discovery, direct instruction method, Group interaction model, and the last is lecturer interaction method. The guided discovery instruction is focus on the group discussion of students, but the teacher has to keep guided the students in the class activity. In the direct instruction method, the student and the teacher involves together in the class activity. The teacher has a role as facilitator when the students are making discussion in direct instruction method. Then, in lecturer instruction method is almost same with direct instruction method, but the teacher will give more deep response for answering students’ questions and response.
I really master the lecturer instruction method, because I read the article about that deeply than other article. Somehow, lecturer instruction is very important for the students. The students can get more deep understanding in this part, because the lecturer will give the information processing, foundation theoretical, and long term memory to answer the students’ question.  Using lecturer instruction method has many benefits. The first is the students can get deep explanation and long term memory about the topic what they have learnt. The second, the students will get the same perception and understanding about the topic. The third is the students will get the lessons structurally.  Having the lesson structurally, it doesn’t mean that the students will not get the kind of thing in the other subject. But, if the lecturer who brings the topic in more sequence structurally than making group discussion.
For all, I have understood about what the four instructions are and I don’t have any difficulties to understand them. The most important is I have to read again and again to gain my deeper knowledge about this topic.  The class today is just so so for me, because I have to read a lot and make group discussion as like as I used to do in my class. This topic for this day is very meaningful. As teacher candidate, I have understood what kinds of instructions in the class are. I can choose and make compare one instruction to other instruction. I can apply the best instruction which is depending with my class later. In the conclusion, the topics is very good and useful  for my future.

    I also feel the same as you. learning the instructions of teaching really helps a lot to be a teacher someday.
    I think your reflection will be better if you also include the things that you still don't understand, like in the rubric. ^^
