Third PETA Reflection Yuko Pangestu

Yesterday, I learnt about Models of Instruction. There are 4 models that we learnt: Group Interaction, Direct Instruction, Lecture Discussion, and Guided Discovery. Each of method has many unique strength and weaknesses and learnt to compare them. This is new thing for me, because in the previous subjects that I learnt is not discuss about this material.

While in the learning process, I grouped and I got Lecture Discussion instruction. Because of that, I truly understand about Lecture Discussion method. After that, Miss Ine conduct a discussion among the group and I really understand about another methods and also the comparison each method also the uniqueness.

I think yesterday’s session was interesting because the material was new for me also with conducting reading jigsaw method, I could understand more by discussing with my group. In yesterday’s session also was meaningful for me as teacher candidate because I had enrich my knowledge as teacher candidate so in the future, I can implement this or not.

Next session is about Assessment from guest lecturer. Even though it is really jump enough from the schedule but I think it is fine. I hope in that session, I will learn about how to make wonderful and meaningful assessment that meet student’s need. Nowadays, it is not based on teacher’s will but student’s need, I think this is true because we as the teacher just a facilitator, we facilitate our students to be what they want to be. I don’t want to ego myself by giving them what I want but I give what they want.
