Third Reflection of PETA

In the last session of PETA, I learned about Models of Instructions. In this session, I learned about strength and weaknesses from each models of Instruction from my friends because in this session I have group discussion to analyze each model then discuss it together with other member. As a teacher candidate it was really meaningful for me to my teaching practice.

Based on what I learned in the last session, I understood that each models was interesting because they have characteristic. For example, I understand about Guided Discovery, this model have the same characteristic with Problem-based learning. The teacher became guide for students to find the right answer from new problem that they found in learning process. But, there was something interesting in this models because the teacher constantly become a guide and always monitor the students to get the right way of their learning process. The teacher did not left students alone to understand the lesson but the teacher always give some guidance for students to get clearly understand like in the end of the lesson, teacher gave clearly explanation of the topic to make sure their understanding about the topic.

I still confused about some part in guided discovery. In guided discovery there were five phase for teacher to deliver the materials for students. I understood the first and second phase but for the other phase still made me confused. I need to learn the other phase from other member in my group to make me clearly understand about this topic.  

It was really interesting to learn Models of Instruction and discuss in group because I can get new knowledge from other member in group. This topic was meaningful for me as a teacher candidate because I can understand with all models of instructions and give the best example of models for my students in the future. Actually, I do not expect too high from this session, I just want to know and understand about this topic clearly. It will help me to continue this subject in the next session. For the next session, I expect I will learn something new and get new knowledge from next topic in this subject.
