Actually, when I heard about this course, PETA for the first time, I just imagined what kind of subject it was. It was really hard in my mind. I tried to find the information about this course to the seniors. They just said that this course was quite hard.  I came to the deep thinking of it. I was afraid that I could not pass this subject. Then, everything was changed. My first impression was quite different with people's saying. This course gave me the view how to be an effective teacher. Then, for the first meeting, this course also gave me a brief view about an effective teaching. For the first meeting, I had to mention my favorite and dislike teachers with some reasons. Then, I found the basic clue how to be an effective teacher to apply an effective teaching.

For me, to be an effective teacher is a kind of being a good facilitator. In my opinion, teacher is a facilitator that should be really objective towards students. It means that no discrimination towards students. Then, to be an effective teacher means being a good partner towards students. So, the teacher can be mingle to the students. The teachers have to know the conditions of their students.

Then, from the performance, the teachers also have to be good looking. It means from the clothing and appearance. It can make the students feel comfort and happy to see the teachers with that kind of performance. Next, the teachers should be able to give a good explanation to the students towards the materials. It means that the teachers have to have a good skill to deliver the materials to the students. So, the students can understand the materials.

The teachers have to bring a good situation and condition in the classroom. So, the students can enjoy the course, also they can be more concentrate to the course. They will be happy with the course. For me, it is the most important. When the students feel so serious and under a tendension, it will be influenced the students' attitude towards learning for the course.

I have read the theory by Blum about effective teachings, but then I think they are quite difficult to apply. In my opinion, everything really depends on the situation in the classroom. Then, of course it depends on the students themselves. I mean, effective teaching is really important then. An effective teacher gives the materials by effective teaching.  For example, the teachers have to apply the best approach and methods to the students. Then, it can be Student Centered Learning, it means students to be more active in the classroom. The techniques can be jigsaw system or by giving some games that are related with the topic of materials. So, to be an effective teacher with effective teaching is really hard to do.
