At the first time I heard about
PETA, I do not think that PETA is such map in Indonesia. In my mind, PETA is
the course that explains about pedagogy. Then, my guess perhaps is not too
false, because the acronym of PETA itself is Principles of Effective Teaching
Assessment.
At the first meeting my friends and
I got group quiz about effective teacher and teaching and we have to mention
the characteristics about that. Actually, at the time I felt little bite
confused to define what effective teacher is. That because in my mind,
effective teacher is someone who can teach with good ways that makes the
students easy to understand and learn the material which is taught by she/he.
Therefore, when Bu Ine asked us to mention characteristics about effective
teacher, I just mentioned some characteristics that show how the teacher can be
role model to the students such as on time when come to the class, humble, good
communication in deliver material, and so on. In addition, when I walked around
to see other groups I found that they also wrote characteristics which is not
too different with my opinion and my group’s answer.
After I read some explanation about
effective teacher, it turns out my friends and I only focus to personality and
attitude that refers to the “The Effective Teacher”. According to the book,
there are four characteristics generally such as personality, attitude,
experience, and aptitude/achievement. It is a new comprehension and knowledge
for me. One thing that I learned from PETA class in the first meeting that
teacher is not only should be good and smart to deliver the material but also
has to good in personality and attitude as the role model to the students. I
hope my new comprehension in the first meeting can make me as effective teacher
in the future such as the material at the time “The Effective Teacher”.
I think this is a good reflection. You make as simple as meaningful. But it will be awesome if you put your expectation about the next session or about this course. . that's my additional. . keep spirit. . we are still learning together. . ^__^

Hapuswow.... I agree with your statement, effective teacher is the teacher who not only good in delivering lesson. but he or she be able to make the students feel comfortable and safe in the class room.

Putri, nice reflection simple but meaningful. I just want to suggest you to pay attention to some details such as misspelling (bite-->bit) and also the using of 'at that time' instead of 'at the time'.

wooo putri, I agree with you. Now I am so agree, very very agree that become a teacher attitude and personality is important because if I may connect it with my experience, I had a teacher, I believe she is smart but she always punish us and treat us hardly so I became hate her subject :(. That was so meaningful experience for me who will become a teacher.
