My first impression on PETA is that this subject is one of the main courses that I should study. As the name says “Principle of Effective Teaching and Assessment” I imagine that in this lesson I will be taught on how to be an excellent teacher which is effective in both teaching and give assessment to our students.

            At the first meeting, Ms Ine asked us to write who was our most inspiring teacher and not too inspiring teacher in our high school and also the reason why we chose them. When I did it, I remembered again about my grandfather and my private physic teacher back in my high school.

My grandfather was a high school teacher. He always care to his students, giving his free time to teach his students, giving the good image of a teacher by his attitude and also always care of his family. My physic teacher was also a person that I admired so much. . His teaching style, his attitude toward his students, his wide knowledge about the world, and also his lifestyle. When I wrote about them in the class, I felt that my soul and motivation to be a teacher were coming back, so at that time I got a new refreshed spirit to be an educator once again.

For the not too inspiring teacher, I remember all the things that the teacher did to the students that somehow made them feel not too comfortable. I write all of it and I made it as a reflection for myself, so that I could be better than that person.

When we shared to each other, I also got many image of the incredible teachers from my friends story. We also discuss about the ideal image of an effective teacher in the 21^st century.

I think that the whole activities on the first meeting in PETA the class was very good and meaningful, because it recharged my spirit and gave me the true meaning of being an educator.

Based on what I got, "an effective teacher is not only the one who use effective approach and methds  in teaching, but also the one who truly dedicate his life to teach anyone who want to learn".
