1st E-reflection PETA

                When the first time I heard about PETA which stands for Principles Of Effective Teaching and Assessment, I think that i will learn about how to become an effective teacher and how to make a good assessment for student.

                Before we start the lesson Ms. Ine as the lecturer for our class, Section H, introduce her in front of class. Her full name very unique for me and I like it. She comes from Kupang and I thought that she will be nice. After introduce her, she asked the students to introduce their selves and tells about their holiday one by one. It was really interesting moment. Each of us very enjoys our holiday although we only did simple things such as watching movie, being stalker, hangout with their friend, etc. We really enjoy our holiday because if the class activity begins we will never get enough time to enjoy those simple things as much as i spent my holiday with my friends and my family.

                The next activity that conducted by Miss Ine is about inspireational and non-inspiring teacher. She asked us to think about our inspiring and non-inspireational teacher then share it with our pairs, and then she asked us to share it in the class to all of our friend. In my opinion, inspiring teacher should be someone that have good teaching method, make the students feel comfort, punctual and friendly like my inspiring teacher Miss Bertha and Miss Yannik. However, i found out from my friends that inspirational teacher also can come from someone that the dislikes in the matter of teaching method. If we know that teacher is not good, it can motivates us to be a teacher than him/her, like my experience before. I have a teacher who have not good teaching method, always come late and always read a comic when she teach, it motivates me to not become a teacher like that. So, from this explanation I can concluded that actually there are not non inspiring teacher although she/he really bad.

                The next activity was group discussion about what an effective teacher is and what elements that should be had to become effective teacher are. From the group discussion and gallery work towards others group discussion result, I can conclude that teacher is not only having good manner but also have good knowledge, class management and good role model.

                According to me, this first meeting gives me a new expectation toward the course material, course objective and the assessment also. I hope i can learn more about what the effective teacher is and how to be an effective teacher from this course.
