In the first meeting of Principles of Effective Teaching and Assessment class, I was nervous because I entered in the wrong class. I realized it when I would sign on attendance list, but no my name on attendance list. After about ten minutes follow in the wrong class, I asked permission to went out. So, my friends laughed at me. And then, I entered in the right class with afraid face. I had bad guess about response the lecturer and my friends, I imagined my lecturer would refuse and my friends would be laugh or maybe mock to me. But, it’s just my imagine. In the fact, my lecturer received me and my friends just silent and asked me why I came late. So, I told them that I entered in the wrong class. It’s just my feeling in the first meeting.
In the first meeting, the lecturer asked us to remember memorable teacher in the past. And then, we shared about inspiring and not too inspiring teachers. I also learned about effective teacher. It was nice for the first meeting in this class, because the materials covered was not too difficult as an opening.
Start from introduce myself and then continued by told about the inspiring and not too inspiring teacher. For the inspiring teachers, I shared about one of my closest teachers, her initial name is Miss I. She was one of my best teachers which had a good style to teach and educate their students with actively and creatively. She was my English language teacher in junior high school. She was not only as my teacher but also as my motivator or consultant, she was like my second mother too. She often shared to me about her experience in her lives, how to be a good girl and how to be a professional teacher. She always said,” Just be a good girl like I know now”. “I believe, you can be more than me”. In holiday I always met her to shared everything that I wanted to share. So, I thought that teachers not only teach the students about academic materials but also could give their student soft skills or non-academic.
The not too inspiring teacher was my teacher in elementary school in the fourth grade. When he teached always asked us to made notes that it copy paste from the his book. He asked us to write and he went out without any explanation. So, in the exam we must studied hard and my result also bad. I thought that he did not professional in assessment, he gave good score for his favorite students, especially me. So, I learned from the teachers that not too good to clarified myself in the future. I did not want to be like that. I should be more professional and responsible.
An effective teacher is not only good in academic skills but also good in soft skills or non-academic. The teachers are model for their students, they should be a role model or gave good examples for the students. The teachers are not only smart but also can provide an good example or well behaved. For me, some good characteristics of effective teacher are responsible, good personality, good performance and good skills. So, from this study I think that we will learn how to be a good educator. We will learn how to give appropriate assessment and how to be an effective teacher. Thank you.

It is nice reflection. You point out that good teacher are responsible, good personality, good performancde and good skills. However, how about the approach in the matter of motivate the students? Is it not included in the good teacher's catagory in your opinion?
